가까워진 관계에서 마주할 수 있는 유리벽, 그리고 수없이 노력했기에 빠질 수 있었던 깊은 늪에 관한 노래에요.

4-5년전, 처음 이 곡을 썼을 때는 감히 세상에 내어놓을 용기가 없었어요. 하지만 시간이 흘러 마침내 제가 썼던 가사에서 해방이 되었고 드디어 세상으로 나온 이 곡에게 생일을 선물하게 되어 너무 기쁩니다. 들으시는 분들 모두 조금이라도 마음의 위로와 평온이 깃들기를 바랍니다.

오래된 것들은 그 자체로 새로운 이의 출발을 방해한다. 아버지도 할아버지도, 할아버지의 할아버지도 탄생을 보지 못했던 마을의 나무는 오늘 내 앞에서 쓰러졌다. 오래된 것의 방해를 이고 나아가는 젊은이, 그리고 그 젊은이를 잃은 끝이 날 마을의 서러움.

Lexie’s album explores her internal and external identities as an artist in the increasingly social-media-dominated world, raising questions on consumerism, disconnection with oneself, barriers of language, and fictional narratives with which one hopes to be freed from systematic modern anxiety. As an anchorless game player, she gazes into reality through the demise and rebirth of her changing roles. She is a fluid existence sliding through screens, collecting herself through the fragmented lyrics, much like fragmented pieces of information flying around. In the closed loop of material inflation and mental deflation, she strives to pave the way for rebellion, seeking refuge in the discovery of more sincere emotions. In the virtual space constructed in this album, she deeply reflects on Gen Z problems and challenges the set rules of society in order to rethink the future.

약 5년간 거의 최소한의 생업 활동과 창작 활동을 제외하고는 대부분 누워 있었습니다. 창작 활동뿐만 아니라 생활, 몸과 마음을 돌보지 못해 모두 무너져 자주 아팠고, 재활이 필요했습니다. 그래서 생활/몸/마음 면에서 재활하려는 노력을 해오고 있습니다. 이제 겨우 잠을 규칙적으로 자고, 집에서 건강한 먹거리로 밥을 차려 먹고, 생업 활동만 하는 게 아니라 개인 창작 활동도 다시 시작했습니다. 이를 기념하고 예전의 저처럼 무너져 버린 사람들에게 공감과 위로가 되었으면 하는 마음에 ‘Building’이라는 곡을 이번 봄 제 생일에 발표할 예정입니다. 생일이라니. 별거인가? 별거면 별거지만 부담돼요. 어떤 날에 발매를 할까 정할 때 못 정하겠어서 일단 생일로 잡아놓았습니다. 계속 힘들어하고 무너지더라도 각자 인생의 주인공으로 살아가며 스스로의 이야기를 써나가고 있다고 생각합니다. 세상 이야기도 궁금합니다.
