Love Letter (Feat. Neci)

 

Taiwan-based folk Band Theseus new song “Love Letter” invites popular group “Neci & Ken” vocalist Neci to feature, recreating the pure emotion of falling in love for the first time. Theseus also announced that their debut album “The Forest Ends at the Sea” will be released on July 13, and they will start their “Film Tour” on July 06, showing the short film of the same name and performing over 11 cities in the greater China region.

 

This urban folk song features acoustic guitar and piano as the base for the dialogue between male to female The song comes from the story of “Liu Zheng” ‘s first love, and they hope to convey through this song that all love is hot and pure, and that the simplicity of liking someone may be a bit silly, but that’s what it means to like each other.

APNEA ‘애프니어’

10년만의 정규앨범 [ANA-043]

 

애프니어가 결성 12주년을 맞아 10주년 정규앨범 [ANA-043]을 발매한다.

첫 정규앨범 [ANA-042]이후 약 10년만에 돌아왔지만 예측을 벗어나는 차별화된 음악들은 여전히 유효하다.

[ANA-043]은 아무런 제한 없이 섞어낸 Rock, Big Beat, Hard Bass, Metal, Techno, 뽕짝, Emo-core, Psytrance, Nu-metal, Jazz 등 온갖 요소들로 12트랙 가득 채워져 있다. [ANA-043]의 아이디어들과 수려한 연출들은 이 팀의 10년이 그냥 지나간 것이 아님을 보여준다. 그동안 애프니어가 특별한 대외활동 없이 게임OST, 싱글, EP등으로만 작품활동을 한 것은 사실 그동안 추진력을 얻기 위함이었던 것이다.

이번 앨범은 테크노뽕짝의 1인자 ‘이박사’, 일본 전설의 래퍼 ‘Noriaki’, 국내의 독보적인 헤비니스 밴드 ‘Messgram’의 Unclean보컬 ‘Jahnny Shin’, 일본 Drum and Bass씬의 ‘MC D2’, 재즈 색소포니스트 ‘김부민’, Drum and Bass 아티스트 ‘Hollyland’가 참여해 각 곡의 정체성과 완성도는 물론, 헤비한 음악부터 댄서블한 음악까지 예측불가한 압도적인 다이나믹을 선사한다. 또한 전작과 비교할 수 없을 만큼 공격적이며 깔끔한 사운드를 보여주며, 무게감과 청량감으로 귀를 가득 채운다.

 

Techno, Metal, Big beat가 마구 뒤엉켜 있는 타이틀곡 ‘Riot’을 비롯해, 전작 ‘Direction’같은 긍정적 에너지의 Big Beat 넘버 ‘The Way We Go’, Psytrance같은 Alternative 같은 뽕짝 같은 ‘Ph.D’, 2000년대 초반 난무했던 Nu-Metal 스타일의 ‘Dead Z’, 70년대 영국 Punk Rock처럼 달리는 ‘KEPANASHI’, 색소폰이 Hard Bass, Dubstep위에 재즈를 얹은 ‘The Rage of Fury of Angry Teapot’, 감성적인 Emocore 수작 ‘Never Again’, 게임 [신의 탑M]의 OST로 선공개 되었던 ‘Going Up Now’와 팝 트랙 ‘I’m with you’까지 다양한 장르를 자유롭게 종횡무진 한다. 모든 곡들에 독특하여 황당하기까지 한 아이디어들이 말이 되게 펼쳐지며 더 이상의 자세한 설명은 생략한다.

 

현재 K-Pop 프로듀서로 활동 중인 Nthonius와 밴드 실리카겔로 활동 중인 김건재가 12년전 무턱대고 ‘해볼까’로 시작해, 멤버들과 패기로 덤볐던 전작 [ANA-042]과는 다르게, [ANA-043]은 각 분야로 진출해 활동해온 멤버들의 노련한 경험을 바탕으로 12년전의 패기와 열정을 12곡으로 하나하나 정성스럽게 조각해낸 듯하다. 극한의 감정들과 다채로운 키워드를 보여주는 동시에, 그동안 자양분이 된 추억의 음악적 요소들을 정교하게 해체되고 다시 독특하게 조합되어, 익숙한 소리들의 색다른 형태를 보여준다. 애프니어는 [ANA-043]로서 잠들어 있던 아끼는 바이크를 꺼냈다. 그리고 여러가지 부품들을 조립해 개조한 바이크로 새로운 길을 향해 돌진하고 질주한다. 10년만에 떠나는 새로운 여행길을.

Radio Mars III (火星電台III)

 

The sun, the most equal energy available to all people on the earth from it. Even if we cannot touch it, we still feel its combination, aggregation, and fusion of different elements, transmitting light, heat, warmth, and hope from the core to the surroundings. Radio Mars’s 2023 new album ” Radio Mars III” has an energy like the “sun” that cannot be touched, but we all need it.

The arrangement that makes people cannot help but admire is spread throughout the entire album, and every turn is handled clearly and neatly, contributing to a kind of delicate beauty that still lingers after listening.  Without a doubt, all of this comes from the precise control of five outstanding musicians over their creations. It just like the visual creation of Dyson sphere embedded in the cover of several leading singles – making good use of momentum, emphasizing light, using curves, arcs, and complex and changeable compositions to set off, with a unique and powerful passion outlined between strokes.

The Dyson sphere in the center of the cover symbolizes the transmission of energy, and the reliefs and engravings on the four corners are waves and rudders, which is the direction for the band to take risks. Perhaps the fantasy Dyson sphere has already existed in the world. Perhaps infinite warmth has grown in the music of Radio Mars, as they had hoped: untouchable, but shared by everyone. And ‘they are on the inner layer; we are on the outer layer’. That’s it, friend. Feel it, feel the light and heat.

 

The Granter

 

솔로 음원 발매를 미룬 몇 년 동안, 이전에 하고 싶었던 여러 종류의 음악들을 마음껏 했어요. 작곡, 편곡, 연주 모두 음악이라는 카테고리 안에 있다면 용감하게(어쩌면 무모하게)다 시도했던 것 같아요. 그 사이 저, 친구들, 가족들 그리고 제 음악을 들어주시는 분들에게도 많은 일이 있었고 그 이야기들은 곧 제 이야기가 됐습니다. 이번 앨범은 그런 이야기들을 모아 저만의 소리로 해석한 우리 모두의 앨범이에요. 이전 앨범 보다 음악적으로 달라진 혹은 그대로인 모습을 찾아보시는 것도 재밌을 것 같아요. 제 음악이 되어주는 모든 이들에게 감사를 표합니다.
