청춘의 백일몽
| “몽상을 유영하는 자들의 행진과 찬란한 꿈결로 초대하는 청춘의 백일몽”
재작년부터 제 음악의 고유성에 대해 고민을 정말 많이 했습니다. 거듭된 생각 끝에 깨달은 사실은 가장 개인적인 이야기가 담겨있는 작품이 가장 쿨하고 힙한 게 아닐까라는 생각이 들었습니다. 그렇게 생각을 파고들다가 음악의 공식 및 규칙을 모르고 무지했던 제 옛날이 오히려 개성이 강하고 나만 할 수 있던 음악들을 했던 것 같아 현재 제 자신 (26살)에 썼던 곡들과 20살에 썼던 곡 두 개를 묶어 몽상가인 제 자신의 방황, 순수성 그리고 소년성을 포커스로 앨범을 만들었습니다.

Dance on the Shoreline
| Awake in a dream, dancing at the border between reality and fantasy. As we dance, fear and worry lose their power.
The magical treasure of a girl, LÜCY, is set to release her second album, Dance on the Shoreline. The title track, Dance on the Shoreline, will shine in your dreams on 10/01.
On 10/22, after two years of anticipation, LÜCY will unveil her second concept album, Dance on the Shoreline. This work not only represents a deeper dive into her creative journey but also signifies a major transformation in how she confronts herself, life, and the world. For LÜCY, the “Shoreline” refers not only to the literal coastline but also to the edges of forests, deserts, and oases, and even the borders between nations. It serves as a metaphor for this album’s broader range of musical styles, collaborative partners, and languages.
However, behind the title track Dance on the Shoreline, which anchors LÜCY’s new identity, lies a deeply personal story. Two years ago, after the release of her previous album, which garnered praise and awards, LÜCY found herself in a prolonged period of self-doubt. She questioned whether she should continue creating music and whether she could still find the passion for it. This song was born during that struggle, like a small light breaking through the endless darkness, slowly illuminating her path forward and becoming the cornerstone for the entire album.
The song paints a magical scene: dreamers find their kindred souls on the shoreline of their dreams, dancing hand in hand. The dreamscape is like a “shoreline” between reality and fantasy—where one remains forever young and loved, finding their way even if lost in one dream, only to be guided back in another.
Production-wise, this is LÜCY’s third collaboration with Golden Melody Award-winning producer Du Du (Lu Gang-Yu). The arrangement features a shimmering rock guitar melody that gently propels the emotions, while the rhythm section gives wings to the song, letting it soar. Family members’ voices were also recorded and featured in the harmonies. The lyrics incorporate German phrases like Guten Morgen (Good Morning) and Keine Sorgen (Don’t Worry), attempting to blur the line between dreams and reality through language. LÜCY’s vocals are like the ocean or forest—gentle yet powerful—reflecting the fearless and free-spirited state of her current relationship with music.
Dance on the Shoreline is both a projection of LÜCY’s personal journey and a message of acceptance to her listeners: “If you, like me, have ever wanted to give up on your dreams, I hope this song lets you see hope again.”
As you listen to this song, which will make you laugh at times and cry at others, you’ll realize you are the freest of all. |

| 2023년 1-2월에 내가 낼 수 있는 모든 화를 다 내고서 불이 꺼지듯 ‘쉬고 싶다.’ ,‘그만하고 싶다.’ 말고는 그 어떤 감정도 남아있질 않는 마음이 계속 되었습니다.
처음으로 정신과에서 처방받은 약을 먹었지만 약기운 때문에인지 깊이 있게 생각이 들어가지질 않아 한번 먹고 바로 쓰레기통에 던져버렸습니다. 약이 주는 기분 나쁜 편안함이 내 무기력보다 더 싫었습니다.
그 이후로 일을 모두 정리하고 제주도로 훌쩍 날아갔습니다. 무지성으로 고내바다에 도착하자마자 마일스에 들러 화이트와인 한병을 시켜 벌컥벌컥 먹고는 바다를 보고서 당장이라도 눈물을 쏟아버릴 표정으로 궁상맞게 있을 때 갑자기 마일스 사장님인 영길이형이 오셨습니다. “너 이새끼! 왜 여기있어!” 우리는 담배를 피며 이런저런 이야기를 하다가 4월1일에 마일스에서 공연을 해보지 않겠냐는 제안에 마음속에서 불이 팟!하고 올라오지 않겠어요? 그렇게 영길이형을 주축으로 감귤서리단의 창기,호진이,승환이와 함께 다섯명이서 찰리빈웍스 라이브를 하게 되었고 그 날이 제 제주라이프의 시작이 되었습니다. 저는 그렇게 무기력을 죄사함을 받듯 제주에서 씻어내었고 울산에서 제주로 이주하게 되었습니다.
미스터마일스는 저에게 제주에서 자리를 잡게 도와준 영길이형을 위한 헌정곡입니다. 늦은 밤 그가 SUV를 타고 애월해안도로를 타고 집으로 가는 모습을 상상하며 편곡을 하였고 마일스에서 누군가의 공연을 소개하는 영길이형의 모습에 영감이 떠올라 1절 후렴이 끝나고 그의 기타솔로를 담았습니다.
이 곡은 멋있는 기타리스트며 걸출한 재즈바사장님에다 숙박업소사장님에 누군가의 와이프이며 누군가의 아빠라 지켜내야할 것이 참 많은 형을 위한 곡이며 아무리 바빠도 가족들과 스태핑스톤에서 춤추는 사람을 위한 곡입니다만, 여기서 조금 더 욕심을 부려, 지킬 것이 있는 이들을 위한 헌정곡이 되길 바랍니다.
늦은 퇴근길에 노곤한 몸만큼 큰 만족감과 함께 창문 다 열고 담배 피며 돌아가는 차 안에서 크게 울려퍼지길. – 딴따라가 은혜 갚을라면 이 정도 해야않겠습니까! 하하!

무관심의 흔적들.
이 앨범은 마지막이라는 마음가짐으로 시작한 프로젝트이다. 흔적을 남기고 싶었다. 비록 작게나마 내가 존재했었다는 것을.
우리는 결국 타인일 뿐이다. 존재는 점점 희미해지고, 기억도 사라져 간다. 아무리 흔적을 남기려 애써도, 순리를 거스를 수는 없다.
음악은 수많은 소리들로 이루어져 있다. 소리는 다양한 파형의 진동으로 엮여 있고, 그 진동은 시간이 지날수록 약해진다. 어느 순간 무관심해질 것이고, 지금 일으킨 진동이 아무리 크더라도 결국엔 잠잠해질 것이다.
하지만 세상이 무관심해진다 하더라도, 결코 무의미하지는 않다. 약해진 진동은 새로운 파동을 일으킬 것이고, 그로 인해 새로운 소리가 태어날 것이라 믿어 의심치 않는다. 이것이 내가 이 세상에 남길 수 있는 가장 이상적인 흔적이다.
