| 2년 만에 새로운 싱글로 돌아온 OVCOCO(오브코코)가 ‘BLUE STAR’를 통해 한층 넓어진 음악적 스펙트럼을 선보인다. 싱어송라이터이자 보컬리스트로서 그녀는 이번 곡에 여름 밤에 피어나는 사랑의 감정을 섬세하게 담아냈다.
곡 제목인 ‘BLUE STAR’ 는 여름에 피는 실제 꽃의 이름으로, ‘영원한 사랑’, ‘행복한 사랑’, ‘순수한 사랑’ 이라는 아름다운 꽃말을 지니고 있다. 이 꽃말로 상징적인 의미를 음악으로 풀어내면서 사랑의 시작과 설렘을 깊이 있는 감정과 사운드로 표현했다. 무더운 여름 밤, 마음 속을 밝히는 사랑 이야기를 담아냈다.

Same Stories, Different Narratives
| After two years of preparation, The Crane returns with his second concept album Same Stories, Different Narratives.
From ancient mythologies and fables to modern novels and films, humanity has always told tales of love and hate, betrayal and redemption — stories that echo through time. Yet each generation finds new ways to tell them, to feel them. This album is The Crane’s own narrative. Here, he steps into the role of a villain — revealing his inner struggles with resentment, “DISEASE”, “TRUST”, and of course, love. “VILLAIN” is the theme song of the antagonist — “I died so you could get that loud applause” — perhaps revealing yet another “different narrative” within a relationship. Right and wrong may never be clearly answered, but at this moment, it’s crystal clear that one is standing on the opposite side of the other. The lead single, “Right Side of My Heart”, features renowned singer waa Wei, blending Classical Pop sounds with the bittersweet emotions of a blooming yet distant affection.
Another highlight of the album, “IGLOOOO”, featuring moon tang, tells the story of a solitary figure living in an igloo, dreaming of tropical warmth and the woman he longs for, in this upbeat alternative R&B groove.
The starting and ending track “Same Story” and “Different Narrative” encapsulates the whole album like the covers of a journal in use. The tracks end but The Crane’s journaling has not. Through the tip of his pen, turns the leaving present to the past, and the future to the present. Synchronizing his thoughts and emotions with the listener through the album, and becoming a fresh part of the forever told story. |
